Hey there Water Witch!
I am Annwyn Avalon. I am a multi dimensional artist, oracle and witch. I hope you have found my website while looking for more information on water magic, witchcraft, art and fortune telling! Let me start by telling you a bit more about myself! Since I was a young child, I have had a strong interest in fortune telling, pre-cognitive dreaming, the ocean, swamps and plants. I was raised in a fundamentalist Christian home where these beliefs and emphasis on strong women and female deity were thought to be the work of the Devil. When I escaped in my late teens, I began to study ritual, magic, art, bellydance and the tarot. Over the next 15+ years I would spend all of my time focusing on these topics and learning everything I could. I started with just a small pack of Tarot cards and a few dance classes under my belt but I soon found myself focusing on becoming a better dancer and then I found myself living in Japan dancing as a Professional bellydancer, It was there that I went from being a solitary witch and began to circle with my first group of witches and other magical people. After my return to the states, I became involved with an official tradition and was initiated as a Witch and Priestess after completing hefty requirements and becoming versed in the ways of ritual and magic.
My practice as a Water Witch began as a young child playing in the swamps, oceans, and clear springs in Florida. I had no idea of course at the time that this would inform my practice for years to come. It was on the shores of the sacred island of Okinawa where I connected with the Great Mother and Sea Spirits. Later when I moved to Arizona, water became a central focus of my practice as it was so scarce and precious in the hot dry desert. Here is where my water practice deepened and where I realized that there was so much work, both magical and mundane, to be done for our waters and planet. All of my work with water can be found in my blog which can be visited by clicking the button below
I love to teach! It is one of my passions. There is nothing like walking a new student through a magical act or a dance class and seeing them grow and blossom into their own powerful and unique creature. I really enjoy sharing my knowledge and I have a passion for getting certain topics such as water magic and witchcraft out there. I am currently offering classes on water magic, witchcraft, water spirits, and sacred dance.
Other important things you might want to know, I received my BFA in sculpture from NAU in 2005, I am currently an Anthropology student at ASU and will graduate in 2018. My focus is on ethnobotany and the relationship humans have with water and sacred bodies of water. Because of my academic background I find academic research and the study of folklore and mythology a very important part of my practice and fusing history and folklore into modern magical practices is my main focus at the moment. I am the Priestess and founder of Triskele Rose which is a small Avalonain Witchcraft tradition with locations in North Carolina, Arizona and currently forming in my new home in Oregon. You can visit the link below to find out more. We have heavy emphasis on earth and water and their respective traditions. I am currently lecturing around the US with a heavy focus on water, water magic practices, dance, and sigil work. In 2016 the Magical Times a magical themed UK based publication did a full spread on my story and life which you can check out on the right.
