Finding Fossils (30 min)

For over a decade I have been hunting fossils. I will share my experiences hunting along the Carolina Coast, Chesapeake Bay, The Jurassic Coast, and Glastonbury. I will share how and where to find fossils as well as some of my own fossil haul! If you like to find your own magical tools in nature but need a little help this workshop will help you to begin or deepen your own knowledge of where and how to find fossils to use in your own magical practice.

Ammonites - Spirals and Sacred Springs (60 min)

Glastonbury is the land of Sacred Springs and Spirals! There is no doubt that Glastonbury has a connection to Sacred Wells. When you visit you may see Ammonites in walls, adorning well heads and temple gardens. Most folks don’t know that these are local ammonites found in the Glastonbury landscape. The connection with Ammonites, Sacred Springs, and Holy Wells goes deeper than the local landscape. There are stories of Ammonites being associated with Saints and other Holy Wells. Ammonites have been widely used in various forms of folk magic as well. We will explore the connection between these bodies of fresh water, ammonites, and folk magic in this talk. We will also explore their use in personal rituals as seen in Annwyn’s Instagram reels.

Bio: Annwyn Avalon is a Water Witch, Water Priestess, and the founder of Triskele Rose Witchcraft, an Avalonian witchcraft tradition. She has devoted her life to the study of art, witchcraft, and magic. She is an initiated Witch and Priestess, Reiki Master Teacher, award-winning Dancer, published author and has a BFA in sculpture, BA in Anthropology with emphasis on plant and human interactions, and has received an apprentice certificate in Herbalism.
